Boonie Stomps to coastlines and World War II sites!

Tumon Bay Boonie Stomp – Saturday, September 4 – Easy 3 hour 2 mile hike from one end of the other pointing our the unique features of the bay including Japanese fortifications and the Devil’s Punchbowl. Bring: 2 quarts water, hiking boots, swimsuit, water shoes, sunglasses, sun screen, lunch, and camera.

Waterfall Valley Boonie Stomp – Saturday, September 11 – Medium 3 hour 1 mile short hikes to a series of waterfalls in southeastern Guam. Bring: 3 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swimsuit, sunglasses, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Walking in water, slippery mud, and climbing with a rope.

Upper Sigua and Alutom Falls Boonie Stomp – Saturday, September 18 – Medium 3 hour 2.5 mile hike to two cooling and scenic waterfalls in central Guam. Bring: 3 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swimsuit, sunglasses, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Steep slopes, mud, and climbing with a rope.

Tarzan Swim Hole Boonie Stomp – Saturday, September 25 – Medium 3 hour 2 mile  journey to a remote swimming hole to cool off. Bring: 3 quarts water, hiking boots, gloves, swimsuit, sunglasses, sun screen, insect repellent, lunch, and camera. Special conditions: Possibly slippery slopes and mud.

Guam Boonie Stompers is a non-profit Guam corporation composed of volunteer leaders committed to leading safe and enjoyable hikes to unique destinations on our special island and the protection of our cultural and natural resources while maintaining public access.

Be safe: Always tell some where you are going and when to expect your return  

Stomp tip: Eat a good breakfast before the hike. 

Always bring plenty of water on a hike.  

 

Every Saturday, the Department of Parks and Recreation and Guam Boonie Stompers offers public hikes to a variety of destinations such as beaches, snorkeling sites, waterfalls, mountains, caves, latte sites, and World War II sites. We meet at 9:00 AM in the Center Court of Chamorro Village in Hagatna. The cost is $2.00 for hikers over 12. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Hikers should provide their own transportation. Guam’s trails are not developed.
