  • Satiric Play “Mother Courage and Her Children” – Wednesday-Saturday, April 19-21 – University Theater closes its 2011-2012  season with Bertolt Brecht’s satiric masterpiece 7:00pm @ The Fine Arts Theater at UOG in Mangilao. With powerful monologues and original musical interludes, the play recounts the life of Anna Fierling aka Mother Courage, a wandering peddler who depends on war for her personal survival. Set during the Thirty Years’ War, and written against the backdrop of WWII, Brecht’s timeless masterpiece is surprisingly funny and entertaining and will echo with relevance today.. The cast is comprised of UOG theater majors and minors and some community members, and stage managed and designed by UOG theater majors or minors.  $7.50 for adults, $5 students and FREE for all UOG and GCC students. Tickets can be purchased at the UOG box office on performance nights.

Talofofo Falls Resort Park, Inalahan - 828-1150-51 -  A popular attraction without the hike to checkout this waterfall and the cave hide out of the last Japanese soldier, Sgt Yokoi, to surrender on Guam after the end of WWII in the Pacific.

 

War in the Pacific National Historical Park, Asan - Picnic, exercise or just take in the Ocean & Beautiful weather in this spacious park that was one of the landing sites of the American forces liberating Guam during WWII.
